Golden Bay Hideaway

The Architecture

Golden Bay Hideaway stands as a benchmark for passive eco-accommodation in New Zealand. Created by Lawrence and a team, this project is inspired by Bauhaus philosophy and German efficiency, prioritizing four pillars: energy efficiency, longevity, low maintenance, and conscious value.

Golden Bay Hideaway

The property hosts three unique units—Kiwi Greenie, Little Greenie, and Tiny Greenie—each designed to maximize all-day sunlight capture and maintain constant thermal comfort throughout the year. The construction focuses on high-quality, durable materials, ensuring timeless and repairable architecture.

Golden Bay Hideaway

Beyond its technical efficiency, the project is rooted in conservation. Every stay supports natural reserve rehabilitation projects and local recycling initiatives. It is an invitation to connect with the serenity of the surroundings in a space where environmental consciousness and personal well-being converge.

Golden Bay Hideaway

The Environment

Located in Wainui Bay, at the northern end of the Abel Tasman Coast Track, the accommodation is set within native forest with privileged views of the bay and the mountains of Kahurangi National Park.
